Just a few hours from Midland, Big Bend National Park is open
24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Exploring Big Bend on foot is a must with 150 miles of trails.
Take a day hike or a backpacking trip! There are steeper climbs
for the more athletic visitor, shorter walks for the novice sightseer.
A diverse array of animals and plants call Big Bend home, making
bird watching and wildlife viewing popular pastimes.
There
are more than 200 miles of water to navigate along the Rio Grande
making river trips a popular activity at Big Bend National Park.
Enjoy adventurous rapids, scenic canyons, and the desert air.
Bring your own equipment or rent at the park. Big Bend guide services
are available for hire.Swimming is allowed at designated locations
along the river. Only licensed fisherman may fish at specific
areas along the Big Bend river front campgrounds.
Camping is a great experience inside Big Bend. Campgrounds are
first come, first serve. Reservations at Big Bend National Park
are only available for groups of 10 or more, up to 90 days in
advance by calling 915-477-1188. The charge is $8 per night for
all campers. Amenities vary between campsites.
