cable tool rig to a central power unit for pumping wells, witness
a collection of antique drilling equipment and machinery. View
life under the sea over 200 million years ago, when the Permian
Basin was covered by water. Learn about the history of oil, how
wells drill into the earth, and about the countless petroleum
products used today. These are just a snap shot of the amazing
adventures waiting for visitors at the Permian Basin Petroleum
Museum.
Historical
works of art and life-sized murals display the celebration of
the early oil era. More than 200,000 photographs and negatives,
films, tapes, papers and maps tell the story of yesteryear inside
the museum's Archive Center and Library. There is even a Petroleum
Hall of Fame honoring those who have made outstanding contributions
